Mailman Lists is an Australian business, and is required to comply with the Australian Government's privacy laws. We take privacy seriously. We will not pass your information, or that of your list subscribers, on to anyone. The usual caveat applies - "unless required by law, such as a sub-poena or court order, or a law enforcement agency under a search warrant".
In addition to any information that you might display on your list's information page - such as the administrator's contact email address - the information about you that we keep is your name and email address that you used when you ordered a list (and the name of your organisation if you gave it to us). We use that information to send you statements, and information that concerns you about your list(s).
By default, your list archives emails that are posted by your list-members. You can choose to turn this feature off, or restict access to list members only, in your list's administration section.
Your subscriber's email addresses are your business, not ours. We will not share them with anyone, and will only access your list if you ask us to deal with a technical issue. We strongly recommend that you leave your list's administration set to not display the subscriber's addresses. As above, the usual caveat applies.
Nobody likes spam, so it is a condition of use that mailing lists hosted at MailmanLists not be used for sending unsolicited emails. If we receive a complaint, your list will be suspended and you will have to convince us that you are not sending unsolicited email. Only when we are convinced, will we reactivate your list. We think that's reasonable. And the other thing is - keep it legal. That much goes without saying.
We'll email you when the number of subscribers is approaching the limit that you have paid for, and again if you go over. If you do go over your limt, you'll need to reduce the number of subscribers or upgrade your account.
We'll email you 30 days before your list is due to expire. If you haven't renewed it by the due date, we'll remind you again. You will then have 14 days to renew your list before it is deactivated.
